The best thing I've noticed so far is if you don't live on PH, and thus don't browse every 5 minutes; previously, it would be easy to miss lots of good threads if they were a few pages down on the Pie and Piston.

Now though, I can go to the sub-forums that interest me, and there's a good chance that I can catch up with every thread within that genre.

I've just found a few threads within the planes sub-forum that I'd never noticed in P&P and I browse that daily.

Also saves browsing through dozens of thread titles that don't interest me.

So a big thumbup from me!

Someone delete this post, it serves no purpose

wink

TBF it's a good point, but the exposure a thread gets in the P&P(RIP) was what made it special.

I agree with the OP.

P&P moved at an enormous rate, so anything other than the most popular topics of the moment would vanish off the bottom of the page in minutes.

As it is now, you can still get everything as it used to be by using the What's New function, or take a more specific view on some areas. Personally, I used What's New for everything in P&G and GG anyway, with occasional visits to TV&S, Off road, photography and a couple of other forums to catch up on what I might have been missing.

it was the speed of turnover in P&P that i liked. i don't browse on a weekend and hardly in the evening, i can't say i've missed anything life threatening.

Really?
Surely, if you take a look in 'The Lounge' Is there realy much difference between that and the old P&P?

I only come on here once a day- albeit for about 3 hours when I do, but I don't have time to look through 6 pages of P&P content, like Rico says, its nice to look at my leisure and not worry too much about missing anything interesting

But it's not just in 'the lounge' now - it's spread across from here to there.

One good point is I will be looking on PH for about 10 mins instead of 2+ hours now, thus allowing time to clean the car/ kill people on 'net games more.

Exactly my point. It will be more efficient for us to find the topics that interest us.

No, it just means I will only look at a couple of places now, not more efficient at all, and remember the less posts/topics looked at, the less advertising hits there are.

The diverse nature of the P&P made this a community, now it is an overcomplicated jumble, I like many just point and click, I don't want favourates stuff and click here, click there add this, save that, I want an easy to navigate site, I had that until today.

The best point about the new format is it shows how much better the old format worked.Tempus
