what's new since last visit

This used to be an occasional problem but now it's happening more often than not.
"What's New" quite often reports my last visit as 24 hours earlier than it should. For example if I display "what's new", then "mark all as read", and a few minutes later display "what's new" again I'll get 24 hours and a few minute's worth of posts.
This doesn't happen every time but often enough to be very noticeable.

Your last visit is tracked via cookies on your machine, which I cannot see from here.
If you are technically minded (and interested!) I can send you some instructions so you can see what your cookie is saying next time it happens, which should help me diagnose the problem.
If not then I recommend clearing your PH cookies, which will probably kick it back into life.
