Missing "lock bumping/burglary" thread?

I replied a couple of days ago to a topic in the lounge, it was regarding a member who had had her house broken into, they had bumped the lock.

I cannot find the thread anywhere, has it been deleted for some reason?

I think (I'm sure a mod will be along later to either confirm or deny this) that the topic was removed because it contained links to a site that showed how to circumvent the locks being discussed.

With all due respect, why not just delete the links? We all think our homes are secure, if someone is to get done like this then surely it's a heads up for everyone?

That was considered, but it was littered with them and if it was pruned back to remove them it would have been pages back due to the date of the 'good' posts.

Tricky I grant you and it's an interesting subject, but on balance it had gone too far.

Exactly zetec, the links should have been removed and not the thread. I posted quite a few tips in that thread to help the OP and tbh it peed me of a little.

I'd only ever heard of lock bumping a while back through this site. Needless to say it was a good source of information and prompted me to change my locks to higher security ones.

That was a very useful warning and hardly likely to entice people to become housebreakers. If anyone wanted to find out how to do it they just need to google it!
