Addition for the mods?

How about giving the mods a radio button that lets the mod choose why the topic was closed then pulling the text that's associated with that choice into the "TOPIC CLOSED" banner.

We've got something similar, not canned text but something which allows us to post and close in one move, so to speak.

Yup, adds some consistency and could relate to the terms and conditions so people don't have a go at the mods personally.
