Love the "pic of the week feature".

One request, though:

Any chance of a 1680x1050 widescreen format?

1680x1050 is a pretty common native resolution these days and whilst the 1440x900 pics scale up perfectly without distortion, they don't look as nice as the 2048x1536 ones do when cropped to fit.

It takes a bit of work to make each different size so we do not really want to increase the number that we have to make each week.

We have had some calls for new sizes though so we will look again at what screen-sizes are being used to browse the site and see if we can change some of the existing ones to keep everyone happy.

My vote would be to ditch the 1440x900 size in favour of 1680x1050 as that should look the same when viewed (scaled, obviously) on a 1440x900 screen but the 1680x1050 users get a better quality pic.



Currently, if I select a PH pic as a desktop background I go for the 2048x1536 option for quality but have to live with it being cropped. This does mean that the PH logo gets chopped off the top, which could be an advantage or disadvantage depending on where you're using it. Having the choice of 1680x1050 and 2048x1536 to select from means you can decide for yourself...
