There's some funnies when using IE8 in standards mode. This is on Windows 7 and I have the Big Blue skin selected.

Firstly, when looking at My Stuff, there's some untidy behaviour when mousing over topic titles; they're supposed to invert whilst the mouse is over them. They're not supposed to stay that way when the pointer moves away.

Secondly, the reply-to-topic text box goes all squished. There's a frame of some kind drawn at the right size, but the actual text box itself is about 20 characters wide and wedged up against the left-hand-side of this frame. Starting to type in the text box sorts it out. Most of the time.

Putting IE8 into "compatibility" mode makes both of these things go away.

And another one.

Scrolling down a topic, the links for the Gassing Station, current forum and top of page, as well as the links for Ts & Cs and forum rules, appeared overlaid over the posts.

When loading a topic, the icons for Quote/Edit/Deleted are sometimes stacked up, rather than being positioned in a row.

I guess you'll be hearing a lot more of this as IE8 is rolled out to WXP and Vista users, and in Standards mode by default.

There's a little bit of code you can put into the page to make IE8 switch into compatibility mode.

This kind of stuff aside so far IE8 isn't too bad IMO, even the dev tools are a massive improvement.

We've not had chance to test IE8 here yet, but from what you are saying it sounds like there may be quite a few issues to resolve.

Definitely something we need to put some time into though, thanks for the heads up! If you spot any more bugs then do let us know!
