is lack of tact in expressing ones opinion bannable

is a total lack of tact and being very insensitive for which i have apologized due cause for a ban more so than a collective torrent of personal abuse, obscene language and personal threats and insults including two crank phone calls???
I put it to the moderators that while i accept that my initial post was inappropriate the reaction to ban me from said forum seemed to be a little bit of a knee jerk reaction to the MOBS abuse,
Secondly does my lack of tact excuse the following posts by other users or have they been banned as well for as far as i can recall i abused no-one, did not swear and made no threats or accusations regarding anyone's character which is the total opposite of their reaction.
Does a higher post count give immunity???

ETA - just realised it must have been. IMO that thread was so cliquey it was getting on my nerves too, there are just certain people on here you shouldn't upset. No matter how annoying it seems.

I missed the OP's contribution to Ali Kat's thread but from what I gather he was banned for being an absolute ,rather than a lack of tact ,and this is now the second thread he has started to try and justify himself .

I dont think it had anything do do with upsetting one of the collective - if I had started a post about one of my dogs and he had made similar comments about dogs and was "Glad" it had happened ,then I'm sure the end result would have been the same.

Nope, you are an adult and doing what you think appropriate. Unfortunately, as you mentioned above, saying something bad about one of the people who believe they own these fora is a serious crime in their eyes. I made the mistake of doing this a while back and was told by someone I hadn't been on here long enough to "understand" some of the posting. Which I have, I just wasn't a member all my life


Each to their own, I just find it a bit worrying that lots of people who more than likely do not actually know the OP in the cat saga thread were acting as if they were best friends with not only just her, but also her cat! And then they started posting pictures of cats? WTF!? I wrote a car off not long ago, I wonder if people would have posted pictures of their cars supporting me whilst it was being damage assessed? And then the tears when Churchil called to tell me they were going to have to put it down and that a cheque was in the post

But making prank calls to him? It is only a bloody forum, not real life! Agreed though, making comments saying that he was "glad" is very poor form, I did not realise the comments were that strong in his original postings. Still, I do think that thread has gone OTT. And before anybody else says it, I know I don't have to read it so I won't be
