Just been for a wander around in computing section and it now appears to be becoming the iphone thread. SHould we have a seperate Apple forum/thread area?

Mods??

And everyone else of course?

You mean the 'Computers, gadgets and stuff' section? Why do you think the iPhone wouldn't be in that section? Why do you think Mac shouldn't be in the computing section? It's fine as it is...

The reason being is that thread is being overrun with apple and whenever i browse through there i get tempted to make comments. It would also mean less clutter in terms of repeat topics etc if it was all held in one apple thread.

So the people that use that section may be mostly apple folks? So what?

and whenever i browse through there i get tempted to make comments.

Why? Are you a child?

Erm... why? Apple do various iphones, ipods, laptops, computers, monitors, routers, hard drives, and tv gizmo's... All these on one thread? will we have one windows thread? One dell thread? One HP thread
If you have apple issues, sort them out yourself, don't mess with everyone's forums because of your own selfish whimsy.

I have no disagreement about the selfish whimsy really. But the fact remains that of the first 16 discussions 8 are apple related. Pg 2 isnt a lot better either. It would surely therefore be easier to simply add an apple discussion area below computers etc or above whichever for all that is apple so that there does not need to be numerous repeat threads etc meaning people dont need to start new threads or wait for info from other posters as all apple related stuff would be in one place.

Again... What part of "computers, gadgets and stuff" is the difficult concept. I have this funky method I use when browsing the forums. If I see a thread I'm not interested in, I skip over it. It's worked quite well thus far. As of yet I haven't had the urge to attempt a forum shuffle to cater for my own laziness. How about this idea? Go and get an apple, that way you can be included in the apple discussions, and you will no longer be an outcast?

roflroflroflroflGo get an apple.....roflroflroflroflroflroflroflroflroflroflroflroflroflroflroflrofl

I like you 350 you're funny. I have had 3 and the latest is off being assessed whether it can be repaired or simply replaced right at this moment in time after 3 months ownership. Didnt bother with first two as they were only 1 gigs and werent worth the hassle after dying 1 week into ownership. So go get one oh god no dont make me laugh. Its for the same reason i find it difficult going into the computers section and not posting about how cr@pple they really are in any discussion about a "faulty" or even not faulty crapple that comes up to try warn people off.But then i get the apple fanboys getting upset and having hissy fits etc.

You are right its stupid and petty etc etc of me but I cant help myself i have low willpower. But as i say i think it would benefit the crapple people anyway as it would be a brand specific area like all the car specific areas.

That's odd... I have 2, and haven't had an issue. I also drag them all over the world as I have a somewhat meandering job - Bashed, battered, and yet here it is, all working, and nice, as is the one at home, as I am connected via 'back to my mac'. MAYBE the common denominator for the broken macs is you? This is all a sideshow. The fact is that you have an aversion to macs... So ignore the threads.

Cant see how Ipod 1g charged it up loaded some music used it for a few days then it simply wouldnt start or work.
Number 2 sent boxed brand new version to brother it stopped working within a few weeks iirc and now my new classic 120 which after 3 months and no knocks, bumps water damage heat damage etc has decided that it wont emit any sound or of course on occasion merely emitting a screeching/crackling noise.

Certainly not my fault. I have an aversion to crapple as a whole not macs. Its like a horrid disease. The Crapple cult. That'd make a great movie.

Actually, a "what iPhone/Touch apps" sticky mightn't be a bad idea - that one does crop up again and again...

Precisely and all its doing is adding duplicate topics within computers and therefore clutter. It would therefore make more sense to have all the apple related stuff in one place.

I think that a Wiki for the iPhone Apps might be the better solution to this than creating a whole new forum, as the Computers Stuff forum represents the latest technology and trends in this area.

It will always be dominated by something that is popular technology, and in 6 months this might be something completely different and not a reason to create a separate forum at the moment.

As ever we will continue to monitor it.

I'll pull together the recommendations in the multitude of threads into one wiki this afternoon/evening, if no one's already doing it.
