Hello,
i am not trying for a row here, but trying to get a little clarity and sense into the whole situation.
Yes i did make a remark saying "good, i hate cats" after a cat had been hit by a car and i apologized for distress caused to the op.
I did then start a second thread in regards to peoples opinion on Cats i made no mention of the injured cat at all.
It was not correct of me to do this as it was indeed bad manners, i am sure we have all at some point hit the enter key only to think that may have been a bit rash.
upon reflection i posted an unconditional apology to the op. I AM SINCERE IN THIS APOLOGY AND WISH NO PERSON ANY HARM.
However i do feel that this whole thing has mutated into a surreal frenzy of hate and that Gazboy the moderator seems hellbent on closing all my comments on the subject, which is ok if i were spouting race hate or anti gay bile, however expressing a view that i hate cats and would see it as no shame if the world was one less is not in that ballpark , it's not even the same sport.
Add to this comments from the Mod such as "you have the social skills of a retarded agrophobic" as he closes a thread shows bias, should a moderator not remain unbiased in his or her job???
in regards to the haters, I get it that you were not impressed, however mounting some kind of vendetta of hate seems a little OTT when taking into account that it is only a cat, if i posted that my daughters guinea pig had died would there be a outpouring of grief from the collective?? NO and i would not expect it,
Threats of personal violence or attacks, crank calls, personal attacks in regards to my educational level and a list of obscene language
too long to list is an over reaction of vast proportion.
could we all not take a deep breath and agree to disagree.
And gazboy they are called discussion forums to have discussions, theses discussions will not always be to everyone's liking however they are not forced to read or post on them. also posting your opinion and then closing the thread is not a discussion but an abuse of position.
AS I HAVE SAID I WISH NO PERSON ANY HARM OR MISFORTUNE, people have different views that's life, To wish others harm because they are of a different opinion is crazy.

Hi PeteI've just seen your apology, and emailed you about it.I'm sorry that I did not read the rest of the forums last night and so missed it.
I'm also sorry that you've been abused off the site. IF I ever find out who it was, they will recieve the full wrath of my fury - that is not on. Shouting at people for tactlessness on a forum is one thing, abusing them in person, quite something else!
I know that some people hate cats, some people hate Porsches (I do) PH is emotive and if you make a mistake and post the wrong thing on the wrong thread it can go wrong - I've been there.
I forgave you last night, once I'd vented my anger in the thread that Gazboy cleaned - and I would like to thank you for (unconciously) letting me get rid of my rage at the driver that killed my cat.
i hope that in future postings, we can be friends

I also hope that you are ok as i am sure you are very upset at this time, which is not something i wish upon anyone.
lets hope that normality can now return to PH.
