Why can't I post on threads in the P&P archive?

I thought I was supposed to be able to press reply on threads in the P&P archive, and then be asked which active forum to move it to?

Instead, I just get a big red error message telling me I can't post in this forum?

IIRC it was only for a duration of time, couple of months rings a bell.

Pete or Will, should be able to fill in the missing links.

Yeah - it was only for a short-period of time - to cover the current reign of topics at that time.

It isn't something we have turned off IIRC so will have a look tomorrow at this.

didn't you have to quote someone to bring it out of the archive, then when it appears in the lounge go back and edit your quote?

Are you pressing "Reply to Topic" or "Quote"?

The resurrection system only works via the reply button, so you will need to use that to get topics out of the archive. Once they have been moved out they can be quoted like normal.

New members don't have the right to resurrect topics, but I've flipped the switch on your account so it should work now.

Ah. That's it then. I was trying to quote a post in a thread, because it wouldn't have made any sense to what I was going to write if I couldn't quote it.

No matter though, as I've forgotten what it was anyway!
