We are planning a review of the non-motoring forums at some point in the near future, which will likely see a few new ones added and some of the less successful ones merging or having their subjects tweaked slightly. The books forum is on the list for consideration and I'd say it stands a pretty good chance.

Hmmm - with the proliferation of fora it does tend to fragment the debates. For instance, if someone wants to discuss a book about Spitfires (the aircraft), would that go in the Aviation Forum or the Book Forum?

I know it's an old debate but I think the general move now should be the refining of the fora rather than the creation of new ones.

The ideal solution is to change the way the database is set out so that a single thread can exist in several forums at the same time, rather than being limited to one as it is at the moment.

It would be a very big change though so it the short term refining the existing forums (and maybe carefully adding a couple of new ones) will be the way forward.
