Why do In not get the option to do a poll?

The search function is under maintenance at the moment, so I am not sure if this a previously answered question.

Where is the option as I don't seem to be able to find it when I start a new thread.

It's a button at the top, next to discussion and wiki. Have you not noticed it before

Not everyone has the ability to start polls, but I've just turned it on for you.
