I keep on getting this message...
It happened a few weeks back and I just assumed it was some spurious cookie error so reset Safari and no problem.
It's happened to me quite a few times recently; twice today and probably 4/5 times in the last week before that.
Once it happens I can't view anything on PH, can't go back a page or anything I just have to reset Safari to be able to carry on viewing.
I'm on a Mac on Snow Leopard, fully updated and on Safari 4.0.4 also fully updated.
Any ideas chaps, it's a royal PITA!

That is a strange error. It comes from the servers we use to cache pages and thus speed up the whole of PistonHeads. Though as all traffic comes through this server I would expect to see a fair few more people having this issue too than just being something affecting one person.
If this happens again can you try a few things out so I can see where this problem is manifesting itself.
Try browsing www.pistonheads.co.uk instead of the .com one and see if the error stays. Also try going to www.pistonheads.com/gassing and see if the error comes on that too.
We will hopefully get to the bottom of it.

I can confirm you get it at www.pistonheads.com/gassing as well as www.pistonheads.com
The error message I screenshot was 'from' the forums if you get my drift, I just went back a page to try pistonheads.com to see if it would load.
Will try using .co.uk though.

There is another thread saying about this, not sure how tech savvy you are with Cookies on your computer but I think it may be to do with it opening too many for the .com site. It is worth looking at the cookies in your browser and clearing the pistonheads.com ones
If you have another browser can you try that too as that would point to the cookie problem as well.

I cleared ALL of the cookies (did a full clean of Safari; so it cleared cookies, history, passwords, top sites & the cache) when the problem reared it's head when I first started this thread. I'm happy to try another browser (it will be Firefox) if you like.

I am going to pass this on to our host company to look at too to see if they can think of any reason why this would happen.

Have been using .com on FF since I said.It's been fine up until early this afternoon, then my 'last visited' times went all over the place. Just logged on now at 2138, it said I'd last visited 1938, all fine, then I clicked a link and said I'd last visited 2140 and then 2140 yesterday and then a few more times!
Now it's saying I haven't been here since yesterday...
Sounds like a similar cookie problem, but without whatever error Safari was throwing up.
Anything else you'd like me to test Pete?

I do, yes. There seem to be more for PH than any other website I visit (a couple of other forums, eBay etc.).How many is 'a lot' though?!
What do you recommend, just clearing them every now and then?
