Registration Numbers in Posts

A few times a week we get a rant on General Gassing which includes a registration number. Is this fair on the individual concerned, and does it breach the naming and shaming rules?

Under the naming and shaming rules, if I've had a bad service from a garage I'm not allowed to come onto Pistonheads and rant about it, because quite rightly the garage can't answer back and there are two sides to every story (besides, I may not be telling the truth). Surely this applies to people as well as companies?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not the whole numberplate is it?
I can't recall seeing one like that...

If there is a post with a full registration number in it then we normally edit it out. If we've missed one then just hit the report button and we'll sort it.

Today's post in General Gassing is indeed a partial reg, but I have seen a few which give the whole numberplate. Admittedly, the mods may have got to the thread after I saw it and edited it out.
