Ted,

Ive noticed on another board that they have a system of 'clickable buttons'

For example, when posting, you can click 'insert image' and it prompts you to type the url and give the link a title. Very easy for ppl who cant grasp the [url]http:|name[/url] stuff.

Also there are clickable text format buttons (for small, bold and the like)

And clickable emoticons....

Just a thought.

I can post the link to the other site if you want, but wasnt sure if I should due to copyright etc....

No problem, I know what you mean. Certainly something I can do. I'll add it to the infamous list.

For my 2 cents,the problem IMHO is if you make picture linking etc too easy then everyone does it and the bandwith goes sky high...

No it doesn't - no images people include in threads are hosted on the PistonHeads site, they're all externally linked.

More accurately, someone elses bandwidth goes sky high, in which case the approach could possibly be "who cares"

Thats like saying "ssshhh, only us real technogeeks know how to do it" - you non literate peasants stick to the old ABC.

No, it's saying we're the only ones that have bothered to work out how to do it. It's really not all that hard.
