Topic closed! Who closes them & why? It would be so nice to know instead of just "topic closed"

No, I didn't mean that one particularly but it is a prime example although I can sort of understand why it was closed it would still be nice to get a small explanation at the end of any closed thread.

As I said before, the closing moderator does leave a comment the vast majority of times and on the rare occasions that they don't it should be obvious enough from the thread itself.
