Has the quoting system on PH changed?

When reading the forums I can't seem to highlight text from quotes anymore

Not sure whats causing this. I'm using the Classic theme and accessing via IE8.

It is a(nother) bug with IE8.

We've recently changed the quotes so that images inside them appear as thumbnails. Unfortunately IE8 has a bug with setting a maximum width to images, which meant we had to apply a work-around to get it to look right.

It seems that this workaround causes another bug, which is the one you have spotted. I've put a different workaround in place, which should solve both bugs but if you have any more problems then just let me know.

IE8 is the Vista of the browser world, it's even managed to break things that worked fine in IE7. IE9 is due to land next year though and hopefully that will improve things.

In the mean time, have you tried Chrome?

Yep agree with the above, IE8 is junk. I've also had issues with it losing all my cookies for certain sites whenever I close the window, so am looking to move over to another browser. Played with chrome a bit recently and it seems pretty good.

Going even further off topic ... have you tried chromium on linux? It's the un-google-fied version and I'm sure it's even faster than google's chrome.

I use Chrome for everything except developing, where I will switch to Firefox with lots of relevant add-ons. Unless you need specific add-ons though, Chrome is fantastic. It has lots of nice little touches, runs super fast and very rarely breaks, so it's to one I recommend to most people.
