How many servers does PH run on?

I can see its classic ASP, looks like the forums are a clone of snitz, mssql back end?

If I suggested a rewrite to asp.net, how long would I be banned for?


My background - Lead geek programmer at a software firm, I was the lead dev on the Sky (BSkyB) Motoring Site when it launched a few years ago (And yes, we used Haymarket for our car data, still have all that code!)

I would assume that this would vary depending on how fit the hamsters are at any given time.

It's all run off a little box under Garlick's desk. Last time he kicked it, we were offline for hours.

Lots. So many in fact that I have lost count! (~15 I think, although we are going to reduce that number soon)

Forums were custom coded by Ted, not based on anything else as far as I am aware.

Until you had re-written it all FOC, we'd love to move to ASP.net but just don't have the available dev time at the moment (there are only two of us!).

I didnt mean it as a "YOUR WEBSITE SUX!!111", more of a "If you were considering rewriting to .net, id be willing to give a hand, and spend time on it"
