Descriptive thread titles

Another message board I use has a rule that thread titles should be descriptive. If someone uses a title which isn't then a mod will generally edit it to something which makes sense.

This results in far fewer reposts then I see here, saves browsing time and allows one to avoid topics they don't want to read.

I wonder if a policy like that might be a good idea on here, especially given the persistent issues with the search facility.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm not sure this is needed at the moment, we get the occasional repost but it is normally when there is already a thread running in a different forum (such as General Motorsport) rather than due to people not spotting an existing thread.
