iPhone text spasticating problems

It seems it's caused by the capitalisation of the first letter on a new line, I don't know if it's an iPhone 4 thing where it's trying to force the text size to be bigger for accessibility reasons?

This is a "Feature" of all iPhone's as they all use the same software, you can turn it off from the home screen goto Settings -> General -> Keyboard and turn off "Auto-Capitalisation" you'll lose the auto capital letter at the start of a text doing this, or you could just hit the shift key after you've gone to the next line so it doesn't auto cap's

Just a quick bump.

Interestingly it doesn't do it on the first line of a new reply buy any subsequent lines will cause it if you press return. Any new lines that just follow on don't cause it. Preview will fix it but as soon as you create a new line it breaks again.

So you're doing a 'hard' return and getting caps on. What is wrong with that? If you just type and it wraps around to the next line this does not happen. Does it?

No, I'm pressing return and it's making the text size twice as big, this then causes a rip in the space time continuum and the text box doesn't constrain the text any more meaning it's impossible to see what you're writing

Also I think I've started another thread on this or posted in one hence why this thread makes no sense.

So to make it clear. Whenever I create a new topic or reply the text in the box behaves normally on the first line of the thread, on any subsequent lines the phone forces the text into a bigger size stopping it from staying inside the text box.
This means if I'm quoting someone the first letter I write buggers the formatting up, when I click preview it fixes it until I create another new line, if I just type and it creates a new line the problem doesn't occur.

iOS4 on an ifail4 only it seems. Also it seems that the capitalisation has nothing to do with it.

No, my 3GS with iOS4 does what you've described.. Very annoying! Haven't updated it to iOS4.2 or whatever is out now though so maybe that fixes it.

I don't know if you've done anything or If it was a recent update but my iFail now isn't buggering it up the formatting any more
