Adverts are triggering Web Filter

The banner and inline adverts are being blocked by my corporate security package - basically when I browse pistonheads my security team gets informed which is no good.

The program they are using is "Bluecoat"

I'm not sure why they would be blocking them, we use a large ad-network used by many other sites for our adverts so it is very strange that your web-sense company will have blocked them.

I have the same thing, Websense is now blocking the ads.

Suits me though, the ads were getting pretty inappropriate (previously raised and Stuart thought I had some kind of malicious code on my computer, so the ads were not from Haymarket). I don't *think* anyone in my company checks what Websense has blocked.

I often get ads appear with my employer's 'prohibited' image in too.

People outside the UK get different adverts to people inside, which might explain why you've seen a few odd ones.

We are looking into what has suddenly attracted the ire of the websense companies though, as obviously this isn't what we want!

Just saw you closed my other thread, no problem, didn't realise you already had one of these going on the filtering.

Ironic, maybe, but when I'm not on the network I'm getting a lot of ads for Earthshare.org (along with the usual imvu ads). The other main ads I get are all in Arabic so I have no idea what they're for.

Hmmmm. All of the ads are now triggering my websense. Not too keen on my username setting off all the alarms and klaxons, as it were... anyone else getting the same?

Does your company policy allow you to use a different browser and/or ad/flash blocking?

...well one install of adblock plus and the websense alarms are gone.
