Recently bought my Tuscan off pistonheads classifieds and had been using what I thought was the guys number off the ad. Just had the phonebill through and there are over £30 worth of calls to his number, which is apparently a phonesafe number. There are no more calls then you would expect when arranging to buy a car so not best happy to be honest as there is no note on the ad, just if you click on the phonesafe link.

Not heard of this before so if you're buying check the number first!!

Not heard of that before, but this is probably best moved to the Website Feedback.

Hello Chris

Phone Safe is an option the seller chooses when advertising, and the charges are explained by clicking the phonesafe link next to the number. This link takes you to: http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/phonesafe.asp

This number filters out unwanted calls from unknown numbers and canvassers and is in use by most of the main classified sites as an extra level of protection for the seller. Once connection has been made, most give their 'real' number to the interested person although obviously that wasn't the case here.

I'll send you an e mail and perhaps you could forward me some more information relating to your bill?
