Full resolution images in news articles?

Obviously you guys get some great images to publish on the site, things like the Aston Martin GT4 from todays news.
It's always a little disappointing when clicking on the image to find that they're 'just' 750px × 562px and not 1280px × 1024px or higher.
Any chance of getting bigger images, especially as most people (if not all) have broadband so the increase in size wouldn't make much difference. Obviously it may affect your own bandwidth but it would improve things.
Even if you could link to the manufacturers source image (maybe on Aston Martin's website?) then this would ease your bandwidth?

This is due to a limitation in our current version of the CMS (the tool the editorial team use to upload the stories). We are planning an overhaul in the new year to improve the editorial experience which we will include this.
In the meantime for the stories we can (some of the images come from press sites that require logins) I will try and get the editorial team to put up large image links - though can't promise they will listen
