confused I received the following "interesting" mail this morning regarding my post yesterday

Hi, Your topic 'Well, i have gone and done it...' has been removed for the following reason: Sorry for the deletion but the Rule of Posting No. 8 clearly states:-You shall not:-“Post links to websites or adverts for commercial or personal gain. All advertising on PistonHeads must be through the normal channels.”

Hmm, as the link I posted was for an advert on Pistonheads, am I to assume that PistonHeads is not considered a "normal channel". It was intended for general interest, as well as having my typing checked (thanks all)

Seems a little "sensitive" from whichever moderator decided to wield the axe.
I wonder which of the PH posting rules this topic will contravene?
Suggestions anyone? coffee

Big Al.

No suggestions, but if your post included a link to your advert then it would have been removed as advertising.

Thanks Al smile

You certainly gave me an answer, and i'm sure it is correct. It doesn't mean that i understand the logic, but i recognise that you guys enforce the rules, not make them. Asking mates to check out and give opinion on an advert has happened frequently before, and seems a sensible thing to do for someone like me who has sold very few cars privately. It was in TV&S rather than one of the more general fora, to receive input from people who know me. I fail to see how linking to a PH advert in a PH thread is a sin, but we both have better things to do on a sunny afternoon than debate PH rules. I'm going to fire up the Chim and head off for a blast driving

best not go out in the Tuscan, as it is prepped for sale and is advertised somewhere wink

No problems, but the link was the reason for removal.

We delete many of these on a daily basis if we didn't the forums would be flooded with links to ads so they are removed on sight.

Anyway enjoy your drive it's a nice day for it.
