Another forum i go on has a feature where you can thank/ be thanked for posts. A small box appears below the post showing who has thanked and in the column with name and post count there is thanked and thanks totals.

It adds to a better community vibe over there, stops threads going way off topic ending with a rediculous amount of pages with useless content, shows which people tend to be lurkers not 'users' such as myself and also the mods say it helps them in a few different ways.

Any chance of that being implemented here?

PH prides itself on being free of trinkets and adornments within the forums, and I think this might be a step too far.

No harm in suggesting ideas, but this one isn't for us I'm afraid.

Thank goodness for that.

I've seen threads on some forums where the 'thank you' boxes take up more space than the posts.

Better than pages of quotes that add nothing to the topic. We already get multiple posts of quotes with simply,
+1
then re-quotes +2
ect.

I see it as a better way of identifying useful posters than post counts, but fair enough.

What about a counter so we can see how many views a particular thread has had ?


Or maybe a birthday feature ? Just have a section where the users whos birthday it is are named and a simple happy birthday to.......


A stats counter on the side showing how many users are currently online, the most users ever online etc....

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it as it stands (except for the search bit)

I agree with this.. The forum works well, loads quickly, reads well, easy to use.. Others get abit clogged up with all the other jazz they add in.
