I attached a picture to my profile and since then have been getting a download "save" or "open" dialog box everytime I access the site.

It says the document is from "www.pistonheads.com" with the name "Pistonheads" and type "Document".

I cleaned up my browser temp files and also used a Spybot cleaning program, but still get this. Any clues?

No problems on any other sites.

Which page(s) are you getting it on?

Oh, and does it happen every time you visit that page?

I'm desperately trying to get a reproducable scenario...

Ted, did you get the copy of the file I downloaded? Sorry, it got stuck in the spam trap on our mail server for a couple of hours, but I released it an hour ago.

I picked up the problem immediately after uploading a JPG of my car under the profile.

Cleaned my temp files and cookie area again and still have the problem.

If I go to your profile Ted and attempt to email you it tells me I have to log-in, which I am. (can email from the site, but cannot include the printscreen of the dialog box). I am sure you will find the problem though.

I am running AVG anti-virus updated and Zone Alarm firewall and manually ran Spybot. Nothing picks it up even if I run a virus scan on the downloaded and saved file. I am have not opened it though (common sense).

Thanks Bonce. I did.

Just trying to work out why it's happened.

Ok, I've made a temporary tweak to try and isolate the problem. If it happens again to anyone, could you let know?

I've cleared my temporary files and visited the ph homepage 15-20 times, each time in a fresh browser session and I cannot recreate the problem any more.

Thanks Bonce. I did reply to your mail and I've bought that book you suggested.

Your mail server rejected my reply though

It's not exploitive code. It's compressed HTML which isn't being uncompressed by browsers. It helps speed up downloads to you and reduces my data transfer bills.

Not quite sure why it's started to misbehave today though.

I've turned compression off for the moment.
