Changed functionality of 'Quote' is losing continuity

Whilst I understand and appreciate the usefulness of being able reduce the volume of quotes, I have noticed that the continuity of discussions within a thread are getting lost because contributors click the 'Quote' button rather than "Quote all" (out of habit I suspect ... or perhaps they're posting via the mobile site).

A better approach might have been to have left the functionality of "Quote" as it was, and introduced a "Quote last" option.

It is done the way that it is precisely to encourage its use, as it is appropriate to use most of the time and we want people to get used to that.

There are a few cases where people are using it when the probably shouldn't be, but that will decrease with time as people get more used to the difference between the two.

The basic 'quote' function (i.e. quote one) seems to be very basic code, as it only quotes the text after the last quote (which doesn't work for those who post above the post they are quoting.

I've noticed it often misses a few characters of text - has that been fixed now?

It is very basic at the moment, but both of these are on the "To-Do" to be fixed shortly.

It's no big deal, suggest it's put to the bottom of the 'to do' list (hopefully so that 'adding the advert age to traders classifieds' moves higher up the list).

That isn't on the list at the moment, it is off intentionally as it is not relevant on trade adverts in the same way as it is on private ones.
