Malware warning when clicking links

I normally view PH at work and for the past few days whenever I click a link posted on here to an external site I get a malware warning and cannot open the page.

Any ideas what is causing this?

What is the warning that you are getting? Do you know what anti-virus you are running?

It's an internal warning and reads: Malware Alert !
This web site ( http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=1044X509854&xs... ) has been temporary blocked because it has been determined to be a security threat for your computer or for the corporate network !
It means than it has been associated with harmful activities such as virus, malware, spyware, etc.
The access will be automatically unblocked when the security problem is fixed.


Le site web http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=1044X509854&xs... a été bloqué car il est référencé comme représentant une menace de sécurité pour votre ordinateur ou pour le réseau informatique du Groupe !
Cela fait suite à la détection d'activités de type virus, malware ou spyware.
Le site web sera automatiquement débloqué lorsque le problème de sécurité sera réglé au niveau du site web.

What is providing the alert? What anti-malware/AV software are you using?

It's just your Malware software being over-sensitive, redirecting.at is the URL used by SkimLinks which is a legitimate affiliate marketing system we use.

Hmmm, it was ok on Friday. The software used is Microsoft forefront client security.

Not a lot I can suggest I am afraid, it's a false alarm so should go away once it is corrected in the malware database that your software is using.

In the mean time, you can probably stop it happening by turning of Javascript on PH, but this will cause quite a lot of other things to stop functioning as well.

I'm not familiar with Forefront so can't be much help I'm afraid.
Are you able to (temporarily) disable it so you can confirm it's MSFf blocking it?

Just thought i'd add that i've been having the same problem, work computer so not a scooby what they're using security wise but it is presumably similar to the OP.

Unfortunately i can't download anything to the computer without getting shot by IT. None the less it is annoying when trying to look through the barge threads etc.

I keep getting a stupid, you have 5 new message ad banner in the top left as well.

There is not an awful lot I can do I am afraid, skimlinks.com/redirecting.at is a legitimate site that just seems to be generating false alarms at the moment for users of a specific anti-virus.

If you don't have any power to interact with your antivirus or to install software then it will just be a matter of waiting for your virus software to update and stop generating these alerts.
