Hi guys,

I put a post on general discussion asking people to vote for me to win a competition so I could win a drive in Gumball 3000 next year. Sorry if I have broken any rules but i really dont know why it has been removed?

Rule 8 really, but the 'vote for me' threads get canned regardless. If we allowed them you can imagine the number we'd get....

I've seen several of these in the past where the only difference (from the available info) is that they are not asking for people to vote for them but for 'the pub barmaid' or 'my neice' etc. Also these seem to come from long standing members rather than newbies
Are these going to be binned also going forward?

dont think there is any need for a comment like that either mate. I was just genuinly asking like minded people who can probably appreciate something as big as gumball 3000 to help someone who likes driving and to maybe get a shot at driving in a rally that unless I win the lottery or do incredibly well at work in the next ten years or so im probably never going to drive in it.

I do do see there is a personal gain but I was just asking for some leniency and as Id posted to mates in Yorkshire forum and DB9 owners and got a fantastic response and messages of support I thought it would be acceptable in general discussion. Plus Waccoe.com, digital spy, roadster.net and uk business forums all have simialr rules but were happy to support once they realised the nature of this.

Ultimatly I have been ok about it being a no and quite happy with the response i originally got. After all rules are rules and you have to draw the line somewhere but still I thought I'd ask. just dont think there was a need for a sarcastic comment from a mod
