My '93 Diablo has the tall square instrument binnacle that sticks up and obscures a lot of your vision making it harder to position the car on the road as accurately as i'd like.

Lamborghini obviously realised this and from '94 changed the binnacle to a much lower more sculptured one.

Having spoken to a few people its feasible to swap the binnacles with only minor mods to the warning light wiring being needed.

All i now need is a binnacle from a '94 - '96 Diablo.

I've contacted Eurospares, Douglas Valley and Traynors and none of them have the right age car.

Anyone know of suitable car being broken or possibly have the correct binnacle?

Worst I have a Diablo thread I've ever seen ! You've tried the obvious crowd, but try Mike Pullen at Carrera Sport ? He knows of a lot of bits that are floating around.

Thanks but have already spoken to Mike.

He knows of a couple of cars that have done exactly what i want to do and says its a very beneficial improvement.

I was talking to Mike Pullen about this recently.

Give Naz a shout at parallel designs. He supplies a kit based on a genuine Diablo dash that uses your own dials etc. From memory the kit was about £350. The only other expense was to get the grp trimmed to suit your existing interior. It was slightly fiddly job but if you take your time, I believe its an easy enough conversion.

Edit: I believe your second picture of the smaller dash binicle is actually a Diablo replica with a parallel designs binicle - look at the gearbox and heater controls.

Yeah, a Diablo kit builder would be a good shout, although I thought Parallel designs went out of business? Maybe try and hunt it down from a US kit builder?

There is a red burnt Diablo at Traynors, a friend of mine handles all the exotic parts and salvage there and owns a LHD Diablo himself, The burnt car was in real bad shape, I've seen it in the flesh, wasn't a whole lot left.

My own Diablo has the nice smaller dash, and I though about removing it to copy at one time as it would be good for other owners that wanted to covert as that big dash pod is awful, but never got round to seeing how to remove it, we could do all the trimming too.

I spoke to Naz about 6 weeks ago (Parallel designs). I don't know if they have gone bump but Naz can still supply the kit you need for the smaller dash pod / binicle.

It was done on mine by Mike Pullen. So worth it! I actually have the SV dash, as well as SV engine and gearbox.

Ian,

if you're not sorted yet, you could also try these guys...

http://www.m-99.co.uk/Car_Bodykits/Lamborghini_Dia...

I had heard they didn't respond very well to emails - so you may want to ring them.

Alternatively there is a Polish company that advertises carbon/GRP parts on ebay I've also seen occasionally.

Yip, I tried them, but no reply to a few emails.

They also don't have a landline number, i couldn't see any on their site.

Edit:

See this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/mobile-phone-accessiries...

The landline number mentioned doesn't work.

Seen that too. The black fascia and metal back plate aren't OEM or even close to OEM, so not sure if the OEM gauges would swap into that correctly. Also on the OEM lower binnacle, there is a secondary display the sits along the top edge, again not sure if this could be fitted to that replica one. If it all does, then worth an offer I guess.
