Nice Diablo SV, but those wheels!!!!!!!

Whenever I see a great car ruined with blingy rims like this, it reminds me of those US Gangsta Rap videos. More money does not equal more taste!

I find it amazing people are still talking about Diablo prices and questioning them , back in the day before I bought my SV you could pick up a Countach Anniversary for a little over 60k , an F40 for 240k . I even saw a yellow 500s up for 80k in Essex . Nowadays your F40,s are around 750k your Anniversary's are over 200k and the said 500s I believe is up for 450k . I paid 70k for my SV and I might have doubled my money , had I had purchased an F40 I would have tripled my money and the same if not more for a Countach . I ask you , is an F40 worth £600,000 more than a Diablo ?? . A 6.0 Diablo could be had for 100k now they around 180 , the same for a roaster they where a little under 100k at one time for a decent one although I could have bought a 96 for 68k when I was looking for a Diablo . So while Diablo prices may have doubled , is it any wonder ? When Countach prices have trebled and F40 prices have trebled and many other desirable exotica have increased so dramatically over the past 5 years . Not so long ago you could have bought a Testarossa for around 40k , a 308gtb for around 25k . Diablo price increase is all relative to the market , and given the rarity of Diablo,s I see no reason why it,s not justified nor do I see any reasons why prices should not climb higher in my opinion ;-)

A Countach is iconic. So is an F40. I'm not sure that a Diablo or a Murcie ever will be (beyond the fact that any Lambo V12 is special.)
PS - I do own a Diablo.

Depends on the generation. While I like the Countach, I wouldn't buy one. The Murcielago does absolutely nothing for me. To me, the Diablo is iconic, that's why I own three of them.A Countach is iconic. So is an F40. I'm not sure that a Diablo or a Murcie ever will be (beyond the fact that any Lambo V12 is special.)

Ferruccio with all due respect I think you underestimate the potential of the Diablo , true the Countach is iconic as is the F40 to their own fan bases , it could be argued that Countach prices are dragging along Diablo prices behind it in turn , with Gallardo prices stabilising and not dropping , old classics like the Espada have doubled in value over recent years , I see the Diablo as a much more desirable asset than the Espada yet the relative increase in percentage terms is the same . The Murcie I would never put in the same desirability bracket as the Diablo ( for the standard model ) and I see Diablo values exceeding Murcie values based on rarity performance and also to some degree iconic status , they are after all predecessors of the most iconic car in the world the Countach . As for the yellow VT roadster I see it at around 225k and had I been the fortunate one and won the lottery before the auction it would have cost Amari at least that and then some to put in his showroom , it,s such a gorgeous car and colour and I'd rather have 3 of them in my garage than a poxy F40 for the same money ;-)A Countach is iconic. That is awesome , very very greedy , but awesome . Good on ya
The thing is, I hate the price increase. I want more (roughly one of each model) and I wish they stayed at the same price as a couple of years ago, as right now, on principle, I refuse to pay the asking prices.Self gratuitous photo:
