As much as I love the red, blue and orange P1s, this just looks right doesn't it?

That does look absolutely superb.
I'm not overly convinced by the red calipers but then what colour would you have them if they weren't red?...silver possibly to combine with bodywork and may make the wheel colour look darker hmm, either way someone is going to get a car right out of the top drawer

Problem with making this kind of choice to "set the car off" is that too often all it does is to set the car off, without actually improving the overall look. It's like choosing all sorts of contrasting stitching for an interior, simply because one can.I'm not overly convinced by the red calipers but then what colour would you have them if they weren't red?...silver possibly to combine with bodywork and may make the wheel colour look darker hmm, either way someone is going to get a car right out of the top drawer

As you say, silver might well have worked. I would have considered black and yellow too. When they were making P1s, McLaren also did a caliper colour called, "Polished", I think it was, which was not polished, just a paint akin to what is sometime called "Titanium" on wheels. That might have worked as well.

I see what you mean, but the red calipers were a mistake.
Shows we're a broad church here, I love the red
Ties in with the interior a bit, along with the reflectors at the back and adds a welcome bit of colour. The bodywork looks fantastic though, almost as if it was designed in that colour.

It looks great in the pics, however, I followed behind a silver factory car and it didn't really float my boat. I prefer some of the brighter colours, but everyone has their own taste. I wonder what a riviera blue one would look like!
At the end of the day a respray would cost a fraction of its value if you wanted a change. And as the P1 only has four major panels its actually a relatively easy jobastroarcadia said:
Who is this Alastair Bols chap?
Has sold some lovely examples recently. Nice to see an independent alternative.
Highly thought after by the manufacturer, dealers and customers.Has sold some lovely examples recently. Nice to see an independent alternative.
The whole McLaren brand will become even more desirable once an established network of indie sales and servicing agents is created for the early cars now out of warranty.
FWIW, he doesn't just do Mclarens.
