How to order a LHD 570S in the UK ?
Discussion
I'm german with a long history of love for british sports cars. Coming from TVR ownwership (1994-2004) and more recently owned an Aston Martin and now thinking of ordering a 540C or 570S.
Had a test drive in a 570S today and was blown away from the overall performance of the car.
However, I was wondering if somebody can point me into a direction how to order a LHD car from the Uk dealers to take advantage of the EUR/GBP exchange rate, which would make it possible to get me a 570S for the german price of a 540C.
Any ideas which dealer would take an order from me?
Also does anybody know if a LHD order costs a premium?

Try calling McLaren Birmingham and asking if they can/will sell you a LHD car. I bought my car from them and their sales team are very good.
There's no point in calling McLaren Ascot or London as they'll never call you back. Their customer service is woeful.
Its not just me that finds this, there's a UK Owners Facebook group and the moaning about how shocking Ascot/London's service is is never ending.

Hi, thanks to the wonderful laws of the EU any UK dealer has to sell you a LHD car if not they can be reported to the European commission.Had a test drive in a 570S today and was blown away from the overall performance of the car.

we bought many cars for personal use Porsche / Mercedes back in the good old days of 1.70 euros to pound.
The dealers in France gave us all kinds of excuses and a much longer wait period than UK, then a week before delivery advised both cars were delayed by 6 months, I threatened to take legal action against Porsche unless they could prove that a factory or production line had been shut down or some other disaster and copied in the EC, funny enough 2 days later they managed to find our cars.
The EU law or whatever it is says Merc / Porsche etc can charge a reasonable premium for RHD this was 600 euros but ended up at 2000 in later years from memory.
Good luck and stick with it despite the hassle, I was only looking at the savings to be had for example on a 991 Turbo the other day, sadly my friends in France don't have that same business ethic that some of us do and don't listen.

Will email the mentioned dealers for an offer.
Is it worth to negotiate for a discount or freebie on options?
Would aprreciate some insight information on this. If it's not wise to share on public, please send me a PM.
Thanks a lot for your help!

It very much depends on Brand, but unlike Europe where I think it is customary to get maybe 7-10% for cash, your lucky to get any discount at all in the UK in fact they prefer you finance the car.Is it worth to negotiate for a discount or freebie on options?
