So this happened earlier this week.
Was looking at a couple of private cars last month and the green one at Birmingham dealer but missed out on the private ones as I hadn’t sold my 911 turbo.
Purchased this Tuesday.

I have one question immediately -
Economy autostart feature
I was always told to let the turbos stop spooling, cooldown etc before shutting off.
This is the first performance car I’ve had with stop / start. It dawned on me as I came down from 6000 revs to standstill with the engine cutting that it might not be too good to keep activated
I’m sure Mclaren have thought about this and technology has moved on from the era of “turbo timers” etc.

And of course first impressions -
Awesome
It drives amazingly. So smooth and steering input is best I’ve experienced.
It’s not had anything like a spanking - not in this weather and tbh still a bit nervy.
Love the interior - feels very special.
Stereo - I was really worried it’s only
Got 4 speaker system - absolutely fine. Iris works great with Spotify, much better than the Porsche Gen 2 pcm.

Great great car.

That said I went to Tesco’s in it first night and on returning I had to move people away to get in it. :-)

Just took the toddler to nursery in it. He loves it and so do his class mates ;-)

You mean you actually managed to get it in a tesco car parking slot ,how did you get out of the car ?, Anyway a bit risky someone in a four by four bound to slam a door open on your precious .

^^This^^ you’d better get used to the attention the car gets. 99.9% positive too.

Great car, the fastest colour I believe! There’s a face book group for Mac owners only. I encourage you to join if you haven’t already.

Make sure you have the active panel turned on, the engine setting in sport this will disable the nanny state auto stop start facility. Ventura Orange one of the faster colours wink enjoy.

Ventura orange is the best colour ever. So deep and vibrant with amazing pearlescent flake I just love it. Sadly it put me off Arancio Borealis for the Lamborghini Huracan Performante which looks dull and washed out in comparison but I do have it lined up for my next McLaren

Only go for end spaces... or a row where it’s empty...
Huge car park.
Know what your saying though... I know one day I’ll be stranded cos I can’t get in it!!

Yeah - poor build quality :-)

Serious - something I need to think about.
1. Waiting for my private plate
2. Likely to get some ppf to prevent any fuerthwr little chips

So for now I’m risking it.

For those that have plates - where do you get them from , how do you attach them?
Mclaren guys said hardly anyone ever has them on the front and most get away with it for ages

I had mine for about 10 minutes and the boys in blue had pulled me over. Apparently its a serious crime for them in Devon and Cornwall and no doubt made the papers as well rolleyes.
Fortunately the copper was sensible and understood I had just picked it up so he just had a quiet word for me to get it sorted and didn't issue a producer but I guess if they saw me again without it I would be in trouble so ended up putting a plate on the car as don't need the hassle

The plates need to be bent though so I imagine a normal Made up plate would pop of in sticky pads.
I was thinking about getting ppf then a small vinyl plate on top of that.

Have a look at 4dot

https://www.fourdotdesignerplates.co.uk

They do plates that are car specific and the mclaren front plates they do are bent to fit exactly. No drilling needed and special pads provided to mount on car.
