Why, it's a comparison between the two, not a competition.

As good as the new P Zero is, Trofeo R’s have got to be worth 1 or 2 seconds around there. Note Chris Harris’ review of P1 v 720S and how much effort they went to with tyres, in order to provide a ‘fair’ comparison.
I think I’d still take a 720S, spend £1.5k on some Trofeo R’s and pocket the huge amount of change...

Regardless of the times I think it was the way the cars made the driver feel. The video showed the difference between the two cars, both amazing but very different.

still doubt it could keep up, a racing driver would have widened the gap much further imo

Yes. All modern Mclarens so far afaik have much the same gearbox (graziano) with the same ratios.

Not too convinced the tyres were properly hot (amongst the goodness knows how many other variables in these 'tests') as it's hard to see how a car on trofeos would not be quicker tbh.
