So it appears Mclaren are going to announce the 600LT Spider on the 16th Jan

It’s not like the days of the 675LT when there was going to be no spider variant.

What I wonder about is why bother with the coupe? Unless you prefer it’s more pure lines without the shut lines of course because it’s not like it suffers rigidity issues. smile

Rigidity issues aside, you're still going to have a car with a 50KG weight penalty where its USP is its 100KG weight saving. I guess its WEIGHing up the pros and cons but I see an argument for both.

prefer the lines, but also feel much safer in a coupe

That I do believe is Napier green and is the colour mine is going to be, although when I specced it I had no idea that might be the launch colour, I just loved it.

Roll on April...

If anyone is buying any LT for track or outright performance, they would always buy the coupe of course.

However, I can see one HUGE advantage of the 600LT as a Spider…. just imagine those flames and exhaust noise behind your head....AWESOME!

Great cars. So raw and direct. Amazing to drive.

I don’t think that’s the case. I think the two are being produced concurrently

I recently spent several days with a 600LT. Really enjoyed it.

I thought they said 6 months of 600LT coupe then 6 months of spider, then a last 6 months of both, where they can produce whatever sold the best.
I think the coupe will be the better seller, as the car is all about track performance, which leads me on to say, it seems funny that the couple of 600LT cars that I have seen already do not have a track specification, ie, senna seats and harness's.

But I must say, in the flesh, they look very purposeful. Maybe even enough to make GT3RS owners quiver!!

If you are looking for a car to track, I would get a used 675LT. Similar price and different level of performance.

Do I not recall that the 600LT was quicker on track than 675LT according to Mclaren themselves?

I would guess that the active aero of the 675 will be quite a differentiator on track.
