You may/may not know Rosberg has his own Youtube channel. In this episode he drives the wheels off the Senna on track. The track driving starts around 9 minutes in. Cameo appearance from Mika Hakkinen who's also getting a Senna it seems.

I like Rosberg's videos, he comes across well most of the time. Next video to be released is a track video apparently.

Why do I get the feeling he had a major hissy-fit when they lost the keys to that motorbike scratchchin

He is a real gentlemen and personally my interest in F1 dropped off a cliff because he is one of the last old school F1 drivers and could really stick it to Hamilton. It is such a pity that we didn’t have the year where Rosberg, Hamilton and Vettel could battle for the championship as it would have undoubtedly been epic!

If you haven’t seen it already there’s a great video of him driving the Gullwing hard on his channel. I think it requires more skill (and balls) to really push classics than modern cars and he makes it look like a piece of cake.

Didn’t think much of the video. Not enough about the car.
I agree he was closest to LH but mentally not in the same class.
I wonder why he didn’t try and defend his title?

Feel free to post your senna video.

As per your question he has covered the reasoning behind his decision very clearly.

Odd that you would say Rosberg was "mentally not in the same class".
I think it is generally agreed that the reason that Rosberg won his title was that, for one season, Rosberg was able to overcome Hamilton's advantage in innate talent by focusing on and dedicating himself to his racing, which Hamilton has not been able to do.
Also, when he was at Williams the team said that he was the most intelligent driver with whom they had ever worked.
Overall Hamilton was a better driver, but I don't think that was down to any mental or intellectual advantage!

He won because he got more points than LH. That makes him a winner smile

In an interview he explained that he stopped cycling to reduce his muscle on his legs and that saving of a couple of kilos pipped him ahead of Hamilton in a qualifying session. Like in many sports the level of sacrifice that drivers have to make to be number one is extreme to say the least.

Because he threw in everything he had physically and mentally, the stars and the planets aligned for him and he knew it couldnt/wouldnt happen again...

Quit while you are ahead - simply. Look at Alonso, he clearly missed that part and ended up in F1 nirvana.

I miss Rosberg,

Great driver, beat Hamilton in the same car (not many can say they have done that) and comes across as a genuine, decent family man.

He achieved what he wanted, and left to enjoy time with his young family - you can't argue with that now can you? He must have given it all to become 2016 WDC, I recall reading all of the different therapies, training and diet/nutrition changes he made to get himself into the form needed to beat Hamilton.

Maybe because his wife just had a kid and he did not want to risk it any longer now that he is a champion

Guys got some skills, the speed in which he corrects the car is phenomenal. Maybe he should give racing a go? Might be pretty decent at it. biggrin

no doubt he can drive - he just has the charisma of a wet fish.
