HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING/ HANDLING ON THE 650S BEING VERY TWITCHY?
THE PROBLEM I HAVE WHEN DRIVING MINE IS IT TRAMLINES EXCESSIVELY AND PULLS LEFT OR RIGHT ON ANY UNDULATIONS ON THE ROAD SURFACE, TO THE POINT YOU REALLY HAVE TO HANG ONTO IT ON UNEVEN B ROADS.
PASSENGERS COMMENT ON THE FACT IT FEELS LIKE ITS DIVING ALL OVER THE ROAD.
TYRE WEAR IS EVEN AND ON SMOOTH ROADS ITS FINE.
THERE IS A VIBRATION LIKE WHEEL WOBBLE BUT IT DOES NOT HAPPEN UNTIL ABOUT 98 MPH SO SEEMS TO FAST FOR AN UNBALANCE WHEEL.
2016 CAR ONLY DONE 7K MILES STILL UNDER WARRANTEE.

My 650s spider certainly tram lines less and self corrects far better than a V12 Vantage I also drive. OTOH if you’re used to a narrow-tired “normal” car you might have a different view. With relatively wide tires, tight suspension and direct steering, performance cars will experience some level of this.
Has this got worse over time? No harm in getting this checked out under warranty.

ONLY HAD IT 8 MONTHS AND APPEARS TO BE THE SAME SINCE I GOT IT. I DROVE A 720S SPIDER RECENTLY AND IT WAS MASSIVELY BETTER. I TALKED TO ONE OF THE ENGINEERS ON THE DEMONSTRATION DAY AND HE EXPLAINED THE 720 IS A NEWER AND BETTER CHASSIS 2 SYSTEM, BUT ALSO COMMENTED THAT HE WOULDN'T EXPECT A 650 TO BE TOO BAD ESPECIALLY WHEN IN NORMAL MODE.
Sounds wrong, I've done close to 10k miles in a combination of 12c and a 650s, and the road manners are some of the best in any car I've owned.
Sounds like tracking, tyres pressures or worse something is loose, see if you can drive someone else's or get it up on a ramp and have a prod around (getting geo sorted should spot any problems).

More pronounced on single carriageways especially noticeable when you overtake, where the centre of the road is cambered, as you seem to have to steer hard to get over the white lines then as you cross the centre of the road it dives to the right coming over the camber, especially if your accelerating. Definitely difficult to handle. Will have to contact dealer to see if its a possible warrantee issue.

Got car to Mclaren Bristol yesturday for them to check it out under warantee.Took a test drive with their mechanic who said it didn't feel correct and may be down to geometry.
Just waiting their findings now as i have left it with them.

I never took to corsas, was like driving on marbles even at slow speed. Changed for std Pzeros & car was transformed into what it should be. Also had my geo-recalibrated.
Heard back from Mclaren today advising new tyres and geometry check, no fault found with car.Only done 1500 miles on this set so not happy, albeit they were not new when i bought car from them 6 months ago.
Approved car so would not expect to be changing them yet.
Think i will take advise and go for the p zeros, just awaiting their reply.

New tyres won't cure the tramlining assuming even wear. Don't change them for that, it's just a gouging exercise. Just get the alignment done.Only done 1500 miles on this set so not happy, albeit they were not new when i bought car from them 6 months ago.
