Has anyone experienced door opening issues with the 650s spider.
Has been fine until last weekend when it started playing up on the drivers door. The remote does not open the car at one press and if you hold the fob down for longer the passenger door opens and the drivers side window lowers as it should but the lock does not open. i have opened the door with the emergency strap, but when closing it the soft close is not working on that side.

There are some issues with the soft close latches, they're sorting them under warranty.

I thought all the 650 spiders were keyless entry?

As long as i have the key fob in my pocket, when i touch the door opening button the car unlocks and the door opens...mind you, i originally thought they were all soft close as standard...

confused

They are, all Mclaren are keyless entry.

You can use the RKE button on the fob though if you want.

The issue is with the door latch not the key or security system.

On my 600LT on first day I thought I had doors broken as they didn't lock and I could open the doors and trigger the alarm.

Tried later with a salesman and he didn't manage to open them so they locked.

I have soft close...not sure how it works...or if it failed to lock.

Yes they are keyless and the same fault arises if i attempt to open in this way, the window drops and a noise can be heard at the catch area as if door is attempting to open but doesn't. Talked to McBristol who are picking it up to take a look.
p.s. tried it this morning and its working ok.

As I say, it’s the cinching latch that’s faulty

Mclaren have a quirky feature where if you unlock but don’t open the door the alarm re-arms automatically.

Sounds like you could have done that inadvertently

I wouldn’t compromise your insurance and vehicle security by fitting aftermarket kit personally.

Just a quick update, turned out to be a door catch issue. McBristol sorted it under warrantee, a big shout out to them especially Luke in service, been absolutely excellent. I can highly recommend to anyone looking for Mclaren service to give McBristol a try.
