Now 570 production has finished - almost - is it a good time to buy one?

Ok, so if I go to a dealer in 2 months to spec my unique 570S they'll say no? And what's the new model replacing it?

I would say buy or not depends on car, spec and budget you have. They're great car, even too refined imho.

My understanding is that the answer would be no. And why buy a new 570 when you could have a 600? I could be wrong.

The replacement will be hybrid. That prompted my thoughts that this might be the optimal time to buy a 570. Prices are low. Choice is generous and the sports series consists of 600LT Spider right now. That’s it so I’ve been told.

In a way, I can see the weird logic.

There are too many 570s sat on dealership to pick from.

However, a new 600LT would cost much more than a new 570S....

Anyway back on topic, generally is a good and bad time to buy, points of view. Good because market is stuck and suspect you may get more discount. Bad because if you would like to sell short term is a guaranteed loss more than usual. But for long termer than just go for it.

My thoughts...

Off topic...I have started today to push my 600LT as almost finished breaking in.

I was out on a hoon around the Cotswolds last weekend with another 10 Macs. One of the guys had a 600LT. Sounded tremendous.

How many miles are you doing to break it in?
I bought a brand new vanquish s ultimate last year and was never advised to break it in. In fact I was encouraged to hammer it where possible. Iv done only 300 miles in the car. Should I be breaking it in before going sports mode on country roads?

I'm getting a bit concerned, dont want to be throwing away a quarter of a million just because I didn't go easy on the throttle to start off with

Got recommended the following by McLaren dealer (already posted somewhere)

“For 640 miles ensure you vary the road speed, limit engine revs to 5,500 rpm, avoid using gears for engine braking and do not attempt max speed”

12c production finished at the end of 13/early 14 and 650 production finished around mid 2016. You can make your mind up as to whether buying them then was a good idea.

Would be good to catch up. When is the Sutton Cars and Coffee? I’m up at this ungodly hour as about to set off to the airport for 3 weeks in the sun.

I think it’s a good time to buy but aim to knock 25% off asking price. Might sound crazy but if I wanted one pretty sure this sort of discount easy enough to negotiate.

I feel sorry for the punter who bought a brand new 570s Spyder at all the money through 2018. Depreciation will be apocalyptic!

The car I’m considering listed at £195000!
With less than 3000 miles on the clock it’s now £115000.

Obviously the price structure changed with lux and security packs becoming no cost options but even so!

If still there just before end of Q3 (Sept) bid £90k. I wouldn't rush. Bargains to be had.

25% seems optimistic, but great if you could pull it off.
