Is owned by Lewis Hamilton? He was apparently spotted driving it in Beverly Hills yesterday.
Could be somebody else's and he was just driving I suppose but #44 would be quite coincidental if that was the case..

Spotted the brief video of this on Instagram last night, and it had also been noticed by F1 oracle Peloton25, who commented: "...this F1 is chassis 044 - matching Lewis' race number. He acquired it via the Bonhams Quail Lodge auction in Monterey in 2017 for a final price of $15.62m."

Erik's F1 credentials are impeccable so I'm assuming this is correct. Have to say though I was somehow never aware Hamilton owned an F1, or did I just miss stories about it?

isn't £11million quite a lot even for an F1?

Don't think you missed anything, I had no idea either.

^ I'm not sure given Rowan Atkinson’s was sold for about £8m in 2015 & he’d crashed his twice! I’ve also seen on the interweb one went for about £16m last year at auction.

AFAIK, the highest price paid for an F1 so far was $25m, although the Le Mans winner or an LM would be worth more.

Great to see one being bought to be used rather than polished !

LH wasn't at the auction himself, he had an acquaintance bid for him; its been in an underground garage with other cars of LH's in the US for a while and we dont think its been driven about til he was seen in it recently.

It was well looked after by the previous owner and I'm pleased that, so far, LH has not changed it in any way.
