Just looking at present but I keep coming back to this car, mainly as I love the colour.
However, to me it feels a good 10 to 15k overpriced compared to others for sale, especially as it's non main dealer with no oem warranty though it is low mileage.

That said it seems very well specced. Does anyone know the car, or the dealer and have any thoughts on price?

The spec seems a little unusual, it has the lightest wheels, 12-speaker stereo and a carbon engine cover, but no other carbon and lacks the extended paddles/carbon driving zones, which most have.

As for the price, it's the dearest due to being the lowest mileage car for sale I guess. Personally I would definitely not be going for a McLaren which has covered fewer than 1,000 miles a year, as I'd be concerned I'd start driving it and hit a load of 'recommissioning' type issues.

Magma seem to have started in late '23 so after I was in the market.

Plenty around with better spec as mentioned, and without being "high" miles. That looks well overpriced by comparison.

Thank you, that cements my thoughts. I think I was kind of getting carried away with the colour more than anything

This one looks a much better option to me (what are the must haves or of interest?).
Decent miles so touch wood any niggles ironed out, main dealer (are Ascot decent?) So full years warranty and i also like the colour. Plus it's 15k less than the other one.

Looks like a better option, but also not highly specced (no B&W stereo or much carbon) - but it depends what matters to you. It does look a nice combination, and I like those wheels. I think the main dealer warranty would be a good reason to purchase, but I think I’d be more tempted to buy one from one of the respected specialists.
The one I bought had a lot of carbon, but it wasn’t something that really mattered to me. I did want the better stereo, but mine never worked anyway… Mine came with the main dealer warranty, which came in handy.
Prices on these do seem to have risen since I bought last year.

Thanks again. TBH i am not sure what the different specs mean and what the must haves are.
Stereo i guess the 12 speaker set up is the decent one? That to me is important, as is electric heated seats (getting old) and noise lift.
I'm not overly fussed about carbon, it's not a trend I particularly get, but I'd it means easier potential resale then that's fine.
I prefer a bit of colour in the cockpit but would be happy with black if all else was perfect.

For what its worth, I spent months waiting for the 'right' spec to come up and it never happened or it came on a car that needed loads of work. I ended up shifting priorities to find a car that had great history and prep and was 'good enough' spec which for me was alcantara and carbon interior (the plastic paddles are awful imo). I don't regret it one bit, McWarranty is a big bonus aswell.

Food for thought.

I've just bought my first Mac - a yellow 570 Spider that was up with Redline last month. 22k miles, carbon interior, lux and security pack (so alcantara, reverse camera, B&W stereo (which is the 'good' one), lightweight forged wheels and sports exhaust. I paid 92k including their warranty (which I grant you is not perhaps as good as a Mac warranty but I decided I'd rather have some safety net rather than none).
Overjoyed with it so far and feel like i may have actually got a bit of a bargain given the prices for most of the cars out there.
Two other cars in ceramic grey have appeared lately - one was wrapped (at VVS for 95k I think) and the other was 100k at Stratton. That one sold in literally hours - it's a lovely colour in my view - but that one has been around for a while and will stay around if you ask me. I'd far sooner save 10 or 15 or even 20k and buy one with 20k miles on it and with a better spec.
Speaking of spec I'd be happy to sacrifice the B&W stereo for the better McLaren one - NOT the basic one which seems crap.

Nearly all cars have the nose lift, just watch out for the very occasional one without. That's the only real 'must have' I think. The extended paddles / carbon driving zone are common and liked, but it's more of a personal preference I think.

Speakers came in 4, 8 and 12-speaker setups, the last being B&W. You can tell the 12 speaker as it has an extra tweeter (?) in a pod on top of the centre of the dashboard. I have that in my 570GT and honestly, given the road noise on a motorway I wouldn't be bothered if I didn't. Not sure any Spiders have the base 4-speaker setup.

I have a feeling all, or nearly all, 570 Spiders have electric heated seats.

The spec you're looking for shouldn't be that hard to find, they're things that many Spiders have.

Oddly I viewed one that had the 4 speaker setup. That was one of a few reasons that led me to dismiss it. From the googling I did the 8 speaker system is meant to be fine. The B&W system is pretty good, however, and glad I have it.

I have the 4 speaker in my spider, never bothered me tbh! Noise floor is so high on motorway anyway everything will sound crap, and the rest of the time the roofs off and I m listening to the exhaust.

I have heard (not proven it) that the cabling and whatnot is there for the 8 speaker, so it would be a plug and play upgrade from 4-8 if need be. But not 8-12.

This may help with understanding spec choices. It is the USA price list, but likely comparable to UK:

Do you have the 600LT option list? Or are they the same?

Best to lookup the actual model brochures, they show the options nicely as they did change over time. Though won't include prices.
