Hi,
What is the preferred warranty provider for those with McLaren 650s?
I just purchased a 67k mile car, and although everything should be broken already, apart from a new set of accumulators which I fitted yesterday in about 1.5h and a front ball joint needing replacing, the car is actually really good. No oil leaks, no running issues, everything works perfectly.
Despite this, and that I'm only really planning on keeping the car for a year, I'd prefer to have a warranty which covers all the big bits.

Alistair Bols uses Autoguard and I was impressed with the coverage.
Can you go direct to them for the same cover or is it through AB?is it one that pays out a max hourly rate? Reviews online are hit n miss tbh if you search recent lowest reviews, it doesn't appear much different to other warranty products tbh

Good to hear of a 650s at that mileage still running reliably 🙂 Can't help with your question though as I've been warranty free for a couple of years now. Living life on the edge..... 😯🤣What is the preferred warranty provider for those with McLaren 650s?

Rennworks in stevenage now offer a warranty following inspection. Might be worth a chat with them, it's the route I'll be going down when I pick up my 570

For a one-year hold just get the official McLaren Extended Warranty. It’s not cheap but it actually pays out and covers the hydraulic suspension lines and gearbox actuators. Third party like Warrantywise will fight you on everything at 67k miles. Pay the factory tax, sleep easy, sell the car with warranty transfer. Done.
Thanks for all of the input, all very helpful, in the end I opted for WarrantyWise - the main reason being that every single McLaren specialist is booked up for months, so having a warranty which is subject to inspection is a wait until then.
I’m off on a roadtrip to put a few thousand more miles on the car next week - Sod’s Law dictates that if I wait until after the trip to get a warranty in place, something will happen!
Regardless, I’ve done now a good few hundred miles in the car, fitted x4 new GMS ballpoints and powerflex bushes to the front arms, added Apple CarPlay, renewed the accumulators, and the car is great.

Interesting, did you fit the bushes yourself? If not may I ask who did?Would be good to hear how you get on with them, creaking, longevity?
My 570 has the beginnings of bushes cracking and at the moment I'm being told replacement arms
Thanks!
AV Engineering kindly did - I stripped the arms and hubs off the car.
They look after a couple of cars for me and although I don t think the d be too keen to take on many McLaren s, and being so busy with Ferrari s, I considered it a huge favour for which I m grateful.
I would say that any capable mechanic with a press would do a fine job, I added the press kit from both Powerflex and GMS to my orders - just saves a bit of faffing about for a relatively modest sum, and I d guess the mechanic doing it would appreciate it.
As for comments on quality etc - significant improvement on what was there when I purchased the car, but they were well worn, so low bar! I’ll try to remember to come back to this and comment in time! No creaking and a nice tight front end for now
