650S: Harry s Garage. 2 year of ownership
Discussion
Well, he s definitely not swapping it for a donkey. Good video.
I do wonder if it s a genuine MSO 650S that he has (he seems to be under the impression that it is MSO). My understanding is that genuine MSO cars were a limited run of 50 units with special paint (not Harry’s), matt carbon, an interior MSO plaque on the doors, wheel bolts are made of titanium and have a full Alcantara interior (Harry’s is leather).

He also talks about the ten spoke wheels being the same as 675LT. The stud pattern on his car wheels don t look like the same as 675LT s.

Good watch indeed,l and the silver wheel swap definately works. As you mention, he has the 650 lightweight wheels, which are different to the 675LT specific versions.
He also implies the suspension is the same as the LT which again isn’t quite correct. He may now have the geo setup, but the LT essentially uses P1 suspension parts as an overall configuration.
Makes a nice change to see a YouTuber singing McLaren’s praises, and rightly so, because they are epic things that more people need to experience for themselves

I thought I was going mad when he said that his ten spoke wheels are same as fitted to 675LT (ultra lightweight) versus what is in his video. I have ten spoke wheels fitted to my 650S, being exactly what is fitted to Harry’s. Funnily enough, I’ve just had mine changed from anthracite to OE silver - haven’t seen them yet as I’m out of UK for a few months.. 675LT Wheels with stud holes between spokes
650S wheels with stud holes aligned with spokes.
Just need to figure out if MSO endorsed some cars without the internal door badge. When I bought my 650S, it had “McLaren Special Operations” across airbrake. I removed it, thinking that it was an imposter.
Bang on, Harry. Just how I feel every time I’ve looked into upgrading. It’s great how the car feels fundamentally designed for driving, without the twitchy Italian chassis and fussy details.
Also, for track I’d resorted to spacers in front. McLaren went with a narrower front track for slicker aero but that makes front-end grip the limiter. Makes a big difference in the speed I can carry into corners. And left-foot trail braking is a must.

to me a Ferrari is still more special - I think he outlined it quite well, it is the history and all the stuff that comes with Ferrari. I really do not care that much about the chassis being stiffer and all that for a convertible, I will have another car for ultimate driving feel. I would not buy a convertible McLaren just based on looks - to me the Coupes always look better (same goes for Ferrari).
also my McLaren broke 350km after I took delivery, so that is not a great start. Not a major issue, but I had to take a different car on my weekend trip as a result - so driving fun missed out on. Was looking forward to driving it on mountain roads etc, but it was not to be - instead I will now get an expensive bill

Noticed he mentioned the issue with iPhone 17/Air - I thought the CarPlay upgrade might fix it but apparently not.
Picked up my 2019 570GT from main dealer last week and have the issue (callers can't hear me via Bluetooth)
Latest Apple update also didn't fix.
None of the IOS 27 betas I tried have worked either.Picked up my 2019 570GT from main dealer last week and have the issue (callers can't hear me via Bluetooth)

Unless Apple decide to roll back their implementation for the new N1 chip vs the old broadcom/qualcomm stacks it's not gonna happen imo. Very much doubt mclaren will hand Parrot a big cheque to fix it in software (whats in it for them?). Only solution really is run an extra mic in the car for CarPlay or indeed a Bluetooth mic of some sort, but imagine most would struggle with noise cancellation in a car.
Tbf I just dont take calls while driving, if its that important I can pull over.

Despite a total of 6.5 years of ownership across two cars, mine still impresses me.
We left home on Saturday morning - 100 mile trip to the tunnel then half way down Germany for one night. On to Como Sunday morning and now further into Italy.
30mpg+ at 'normal' motorway speeds which was giving an estimated tank range of up to ~400 miles although we filled up more often.
Very comfortable and no issues with spending hours in the car.
Much worse mpg on derestricted Autobahns on a Sunday morning where it was happy to sit at high speed for long periods.
Brilliant cars.
