I’ve just dropped my 991 GT3 for a major service (including PDK) and a 12 month warranty extension, all of which is costing just shy of £5k.

It’s been a reliable car but on faster tracks such as Spa it does get outgunned on the straights, with the increased OPC rates, I’m considering something else that offers more performance for the running costs.

Has anyone gone from a 991 to a 600LT that uses it on multiple trackdays, somewhere in the region of 6-10 per year? How does it cope with regular track use? What are the running costs like?

I have a 650S Spider which is a 1000 miles per year garage queen so the servicing at V engineering is minimal, I’d be looking at a 600LT coupe with Sennas + harnesses.

I'm on a wats app group for 600LT owners and the guys who regularly track theirs seem very happy with them in terms of reliability and performance. It's a rocket ship on the road, fabulous handling and turn in etc. I think the only upgrade needed is pads and to watch oil temps, perhaps one of the owners will share their experiences. Only heard good things so far.

out of interest, are the LTs "undertyred" (not a word I think) for track work, I looked at the 675 and the tyres seem quite narrow, esp. the 235 fronts - I would have thought that might be a limiting factor?

All the reviews I’ve read do note the 600LT has a lack of bite on the front end compared to a GT3. The lack of tyre on the front axle does raise a question about its ultimate on track balance how forgiving it is on track.

I’m not really looking for a challenge on high speed tracks, would prefer composure, balance and linear outputs.

The 991 doesn’t like to turn in that well and I do have one eye on the 992 GT3s as they seem to have sorted this. So I guess the real comparison is 992 GT3 v 600LT as after 3 years I’m ready to move the 991 on.

I think ultimately it depends on how you drive.... The M2s kept overtaking me on straights and then I was stuck behind them in corners in my 430 Challenge. The 600 will give you the burst to get past people, but not sure it will carry the speed in corners as a GT3 can, alas no clue, maybe they are amazing on narrow tyres - I will take the 675 to a track to find out eventually

Not exactly what the OP is looking for, but I actually had been tracking my 650 3-4 x per year until I got the Atom. Indeed front end grip was the limiter on track, but I simply added spacers which also improved the trail breaking balance. Throw in an asymmetric track geo and left-foot braking and there wasn’t much that could carry speed into corners like it, much keep up with that extra burst above 7K that the super series have.

people just fit 235 front and 305 rears on the 600LT without any issues.
