Quick question .
If a McLaren supplied by a main dealer in the uk with 12 months warranty develops defect(s), can any main dealership deal with the problem , or does the car have to go back to the supplying dealer ?

While things seem to go smoother if you go back to the original dealer, in principle no issue going to any dealer. I’ve gone back to my local dealer for a couple of smaller issues, even though I had purchased the original car and warranty from another.
