The 750S is dead, long live the McL 820 (?)
Discussion
Autocar are reporting that McLaren have placed a large kiwi sculpture in Covent Garden, upon which they've found the text "McL 820".

It's expected that the 820 will use a version of the brand-new V8 launched in the W1, including the hybrid power.

I guess my thoughts are
(a) you'd expect at least 100hp from the hybrid, implying the brand new engine will make no more power than the decade-old 720S. Surely they're low enough volume not to be hit by the Euro7 lambda 1.0 rule?
(b) If the W1 is 1400kg dry, what will this weigh once ready to drive?
(c) It feels like McLaren is continuing to make a mess of their naming. From MP4-12C to 650S, from 720S to Senna and Artura and now back to a numeric designation, they keep failing to establish clear brands for each model.
In particular the purely horsepower-based nomenclature failed to distinguish between different versions of the same platform and wholly distinct models - most people don't know that a 600LT is a 570S is a 540C, whereas a 650S is something entirely different. Fine to include the power as part of the name, but have another part which identifies the model line - similar to how you know a BMW 330i is a faster 320i, but a whole different car to a 530i.
