BMW i3 Range Extender Noise - Video

Hi all have been looking for just such a demo for a while. The noise an i3 REX makes when charging. This video is shot from outside, so I imagine the noise inside will be much more subdued.

That's a funny video, it makes it sound so loud. On my test drive I manually turned on the REx whilst doing about 70mph on the M1 (in the wet) and I couldn't actually hear it due to tyre/wind noise. You can hear it when you're going slower around town but that's typically not when the REx is on anyway.

Interestingly the i3 at speed is not a quiet car. I saw some decibel figures comparing it to a diesel passat and above 60mph the VW was quieter.

Stand next to any busy road with cars going by at 40 mph. Cars are horribly noisy from the outside at any speed.
