Leaf charging cable Question

So following on from my last post, I loved the Leaf after having it for 3 days so decided to take the plunge. A local dealer offered me a pretty sensational deal on a pre-reg one so I went for that, subject to a final inspection of the car etc (fingers crossed).

My question is, I was going to order a charging cable and I'm aware there are both 16 and 32A cables available. The car I'm getting doesn't have the uprated 6kw charger, but am I ok to still order a 32A cable (to future proof myself)? Will it just work as normal at the lower 3kw charging rate?

The same applied to the home charger I'm planning on getting. If I go for a 32A charger, will it just charge at the lower rate?

yes it will just be a thicker cable / limited in length you can buy.

I would get the higher rated charge point but not sure if worth getting the thickr / heavier cable as the connector on a leaf my be different to the car you replace if with in the future

Avoid EV Connectors as they can't supply until end of March. Rolec will supply in 3 days

Yeah went for them and the cable should arrive tomorrow.

Day 1 in the Leaf and loving it so far!

I've had mine since January and I'm still loving mine!.

Agree on Rolec - I just purchased a 5m 32A cable. Delivered very promptly and this is a quality product.

I've had mine since April 2011 and I still like it!
