iPace showing fully charged but only 89%
Discussion
Not driven the iPace much recently so its been sat in its spot just sitting there for maybe 2 weeks was checking on the battery yesterday and it was 50% so thought best just chuck it on charge.
Put it on charge last night about 4pm. This morning went to check on it and was showing fully charged in the app but only 89%.
Weird.
Went to the car and it was indeed on 89% but showing full. The ipace logo that fills with green is not full its got a small portion thats blank.
Tried unplugging and put it back on, flashed charging for about 3 seconds then back to fully charged.
Any ideas?

We only really charge it when it drops <50% but honestly most of the time its just sat there at 90% or so minding its own business.
Its a March 19 car. 2600 miles.
Its at the end of its lease next month, we were planning to keep it till March as Jag offered a month by month extension at same price but if its going to be in the dealer for weeks might have to re-consider.

Sh*t.Well I have just done some googling and it seems the range I have been getting of only 125 miles or so is another indicator of a bad battery.
Its been like that, range wise, perhaps the last 17 months out of the 18 we had it. I just assumed it was due to the town driving we do.
Its booked into the dealer, I suspect its going to be a new battery...

Do you actually need any car to replace it given the tiny number of miles? Its at the end of its lease next month, we were planning to keep it till March as Jag offered a month by month extension at same price but if its going to be in the dealer for weeks might have to re-consider.
Why not just hand it back if its got a duff battery and due to go back anyways? It'll save you time, hassle, and money.

Hm not looking good. Appointment not for a couple more weeks.
Today we did a run out about 80 miles. We got back with 30 ish miles to spare. I was driving pretty carefully in eco mode all the time.
It was 22-24c so perfect temps.
Something is clearly not right.

For comparison, we did 210 miles last Saturday (in similar conditions) and still had over 40 miles showing on the GOM.

Its a low mileage lease - matches our use profile fine. Covid has not helped either though as cant have done more than 300-400 miles in the last 6 months.
I have to say I was wondering the same thing as Gang, hardly seems worth it. I certainly wouldn’t keep it if you’re suspicious of the battery. Interestingly, we’ve had our Niro for a couple of weeks now, mostly short runs, a couple of 50 miles or so. It’s telling us now the battery is at 81% with a range of 257m, which implies a range of about 317m.
Have to say, though, much as I like the Niro, I was out in the XF today; it’s still better in terms of ride, overall noise levels and performance. Can’t see the Niro being used for our long runs yet.

This will be a software glitch imo rather than a problem with the batteries.Did you get the H264 update? I had all kinds of weird readings from the car with poor range etc until I had the update.

No its never been back to the dealer.
That's most likely the issue then. H264 is quite a bit update - makes lots of changes how the battery range is calculated etc. My range for example was showing down at the 130 miles on some days prior to the update. After the update, it never shows below 200 miles.Gassing Station | EV and Alternative Fuels | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
